Attorney Eric Berg
Leads Workshop on Credit Health
TIP Wayne State has a volunteer staff position called "champions." While TIP uses the term to mean, "a person who fights for or defends another person or cause," Eric Berg literally defends TIP Wayne State students. Eric Berg Attorney at Law has served as TIP Wayne State Legal Champion for over a year now. He gives pro bono legal aid to any TIP Wayne State students who need legal advice.
Eric began serving TIP because of his desire to help students get juvenile offenses expunged from their records. But he began to see students had additional needs, "I was beginning to notice that students could use some guidance in cleaning up their credit histories, many foster care youth are targets of identity theft."
Eric was on campus Tuesday, January 14, 2014 assisting TIP students in recognizing credit concerns and beginning the process of addressing them. Eric would now like students to communicate other needs that could be addressed through a workshop forum. Attorney Berg is available to advise students on legal matters at (313) 799-2374.
